1. Clarifying The Blessed Mary's Role in The Bible

The following are directly from the Bible with Bible references. It is not me saying; it is God saying:

(These verses are also in your Catholic Bible. I am not asking you to follow a different church!!)

  • The blessed Mary is the mother of Jesus the human. She is not the mother of Jesus the son of the Triune God: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.

Jesus said: “I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” John‬ ‭16‬:‭28‬

  • Jesus did not come into existence when Mary gave birth to Him. Before Mary was born, Jesus is "I Am": Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I Am." John 8:58

When the angel appeared to Mary to tell her she's pregnant, Jesus was alive with God in heaven. She was not His mother then. And therefore, the same after His human death, He went back to the same spot with God. He's an infinite Triune God. Did not change.

  • The mother-son relationship between Mary and Jesus ended after His death on the cross and went back to a human-God relationship just as it was before the angel appeared to her at pregnancy, but with special consideration to Mary similar to prophets and disciples.

When Jesus was about to die on the cross, He transferred Mary's motherhood to one of His disciples:  When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. John 19:26-27

  • And Mary herself said these things:

She said she is the servant of God, not His mother!!! Then Mary said, "I am the servant of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38

- She said "the Lord is my savior", not "the Lord is my son": ”And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,“ Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭46‬-‭47‬

Of course, all true Christians love and cherish the blessed Mary who carried Jesus in her womb and nursed him! It is all the unbiblical roles that people gave her that is unacceptable.

Biblical references are the official truth about the way to God. And there is nothing there about the blessed Mary in relation to the way to God. Only one mediator, not two, 1Timothy 2:5. If you say the Bible is not the only book you follow, you're certainly free to do that. But then you're not Christian. Christian means Bible, not what people or churches build on the Bible. Which the Bible specifically says not to do!

God saw that Mary was a genuine believer, good-hearted, and pure. He called her blessed among women, and gave her the most honorable role - deliver Jesus to earth in order to accomplish God's salvation plan.

Before coming to earth through His birth from Mary, Jesus was with God for eternity past (John 1:1-4). He came to earth for the sole purpose of dying on the cross to accomplish God's redemption plan. Jesus was not unfairly crucified and killed by the Jews; He did not come to this earth to have a family and raise children! Although the Jews meant it for bad, God meant it for good in order to bring salvation to all people on earth. And this is the sole main objective of the Christian religion. Why are people doing this to themselves and to the blessed Mary?

God accomplished His redemption plan through His son Jesus and made it available in the scripture to all people. Why are we going in all kinds of wrong directions? God's redemption plan is very clear, and completely sufficient - pray the Lord's Prayer daily, as Jesus commanded, to receive the Bread of life for the forgiveness of your sins then receive God's blessings and eternal life. Why are we going to other places, praying to humans and annoying God? 1Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.” This clearly means not Mary and not saints! We can't run Christianity our way!! It has to be God's way as in the Bible. Blaming the church will not get you off the hook on judgement day!!

(The explanation of how the Eucharist relates to the Lord's Prayer for forgiveness of sins is in Section 1.7 in The Lord's Prayer is Severely Misunderstood)

Nowhere in the Bible does it say to pray to Mary! In fact, it says the opposite. The Bible actually says don't look at Mary, focus on God. Yes it says exactly that, here:

Luke 11:27-28

As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.”

He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

This woman was impressed with His teachings and miracles, so she praised His mother. It is obvious here that Jesus was annoyed - "Blessed rather...".  Because throughout His ministry on earth He kept pointing people to God and to the spiritual side of things, but they insisted on dwelling on humans and the earthly side! And here we are today - we still don't get it.

2. Also Clarifying that Protestant Teachings are Unbiblical

I am not a Protestant person hitting at the Catholic church. I am a true Christian believer by the Bible. I am pointing to Bible references and humbly and with respect correcting misinterpretations. I actually have harsher words for the unbiblical teaching of all Protestant churches in my other pages:

- What Does "Believe in Jesus" Really Mean?

- By Faith Alone?

- Are We True Christians?

Churches have been diverging away from the Bible in all kinds of wrong directions for hundreds of years.

3. Pope Pius-XII in 1950 Seated Mary Next to God in Heaven

There were 259 Popes before Pope Pius-XII. 1900 years and 259 Popes; none of them touched this. Why? Because despite pressure from the people, they were still part of the church-generation that feared God! So then, was Pope Pius-XII and his cardinals smarter and Godlier than the 259 before him? That they got this brilliant idea to seat Mary next to God? I'll let you answer that.

2Timothy 4:3-4

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”

This prophecy from Paul, has been fulfilled by Pope Pius-XII and all the popes that came after him approving of it. The popes, their cardinals, bishops, and priests since 1950 were "the great number of teachers that said what people's itching ears wanted to hear". Yes, it was "people's itching ears". You know why? Because if any pope opposed this doctrine and nullified it, a mob of people would march on the Vatican the very next day and destroy it!

In the early days of the church, Godly people like Paul, Peter, and the other apostles, in an effort to clarify and explain how Christianity works, wrote the chapters in the New Testament that came after the 4 Gospels. They knew the blessed Mary very well, but did not mention anything about her! Almost half the New Testament Bible, not one word about the blessed Mary. All their teachings pointed to Christ, the scriptures, and to God's salvation plan through Jesus the Christ.

You may say, "but Jesus gave the authority to Peter to change things as needed". No no no! He did not instruct Peter to do what he pleased!!! Jesus gave the authority to Peter, to attend to the spiritual needs of the people - Jesus told Peter: "feed My sheep" John 21:15-17. He trusted Peter with making sure that His teachings and commands reach people throughout the world, and even perform miracles in His name. But He did not instruct him to create "New-Testament Part 2" contradicting to the Bible!! Or make changes in the structure of God and His heaven! Converting people from humans to gods is not the business of the Vatican. I urge you not to blindly follow the church of today! Let's look again at what Jesus told Peter:

Matthew 16:19

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven.”

Then a couple of verses later Jesus called Peter “Satan”!! How much more today’s unbiblical Catholic counsels and their financial agendas are “Satan”?

Matthew 16:23

Jesus turned and told Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me, because you are not thinking God’s thoughts but human thoughts!”

Jesus also said the exact same "keys of heaven" sentence later and clarified how to use this power:

Matthew 18:15-19

If your brother sins against you, go tell him his fault, between you... If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven

It becomes obvious when we look at the before and after verses that this whole binding and loosening was about people relations on earth and attending to their needs. Meaning whatever the church determines, related to people's affairs, will be approved in heaven. This does not include the power to make Mary a Deity and seat her next to God the Father! And to modify the Bible, replacing the mediator Jesus with the mediators Mary and saints??!!

4. Is Mary the Mother of God?

The term itself is blasphemous. Our infinite triune God, Father Son & Holy Spirit, has no mother. The Bible always referred to Mary as the mother of Jesus, never as the mother of God. Only Jesus is fully human and fully God, but not Mary. Mary is the mother of His human side only. To declare Mary a deity by association is a blasphemy against our infinite Triune God! You have no idea what you're saying! Or how sinful that is!! To include Mary in the Trinity is like saying our God has now become Father, mother, Son, & Holy Spirit? Even the Catholic church is not saying that! And therefore, a big confusion to young generations. No wonder they're flocking to Atheism! And the older generations are flocking to Calvinism! Going from one bad church to another.

For those wanting the Blessed Mary to be the mother of God so badly, there is a harsh reality for them in the Bible. Jesus never called her "mother". And all we see in the Bible is Jesus ignoring her and calling her "woman". Example verses:

John 2:4

“Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied.”

Matthew 12:46-50

While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, His mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to Him. Someone told Him, “Look, Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to You.”  But Jesus replied, “Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?”  Pointing to His disciples, He said, “Here are My mother and My brothers. For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.

Notes: When we look at biblical references like these, we may think even Jesus did not acknowledge His mother, and was insensitive to her. But He was not! He was just very focused on God and His plan to provide salvation to people, including to Mary. And Mary herself saw this clearly later, on the day of Pentecost, Acts 2:1-4, when the Holy Spirit gave them the knowledge and wisdom of God.

What I'm about to say here may be upsetting to many, but it is the Godly truth. The blessed Mary is a human and is currently dead like all other prophets and disciples who died. She's not alive in the flesh in heaven today seated next to Jesus! She cannot hear any prayers; she’s not Deity nor a mediator between people and God. Where in the Bible does it say any of these things? You can only stretch the "wedding at Cana" so much. The Bible says Jesus is the only mediator, 1Timothy 2:5.

From God's view, which is outside our time, of course all dead people including Mary are alive; Jesus said in Mark 12:27 "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living". But from our view in our human time-space continuum on earth, all people who died since creation, including prophets, disciples, apostles, and Mary are currently dead, until judgement day (or until the rapture) when we will all rise together. The only exception is Jesus who ascended into heaven in the flesh and was seen by many as described in the Bible.

The bigger question really is, why are we even going there??!!  To decide to ignore God's plan through Jesus and turn to dead people, is in itself a form of a statue-worshipping paganism!!! Even if you say we only ask Mary to intercede on our behalf. This shows you have no clue about God! He didn't say you're allowed to do this! It is disrespectful and most painful to God!!

5. Mary visits cousin Elizabeth when both are pregnant

One of the biblical references used to justify all this is, Luke 1:41-43 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  Beautiful scripture! Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and her baby (John the Baptist) leaped in her womb. Mary here was carrying Jesus in her womb, and Elizabeth called her "the mother of my Lord". She did not say "the mother of my God". She said Lord. Take a look at all public books and all the way back in historic books. The term "Lord" does not exclusively mean God. It is mostly used with people of status - a high-priest, a bishop, a king, etc.. To the people around Him, Jesus was a human teacher or rabbi, but was called Lord throughout the new testament. Again according to the Bible, God is triune for eternity past and eternity future - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And He did not change based on Elizabeth's statement, to become a quadrune god - mother, father, son, and holy spirit.

6. The Wedding at Cana

John 2:1-5

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you."

Notes: As in, "Jesus didn't want to help them, but Mary forced His hand; she told Him what to do and He did it". Every Catholic person I know points to this as the undisputable evidence of the higher authority of Mary over Jesus. My goodness! This is worse than the Calvinists. When people develop a mental block, it stays with them all the way to hell. So throw the whole Bible away? And use these 2 references here to secure your eternity?

7. Some are in it Because Mary Represents the Caring Woman and Mother

But if they only knew God, they would have changed their ways!  God is "I Am"; He is not male nor female. God transcends the human concept of sex. These attributes are for humans. God is our parent representing both genders and He is far more loving and caring than any human can be. He chose to be called "Father" but He is both parents, as clear in these verses:

Genesis 1:27

God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Isaiah 66:13

'As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Isaiah 49:15

'Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even she may forget, yet I will not forget you.'

So all those in need of a female Godly figure to turn to “because she understands women better” or "because she's like a mother to everyone", and went on and gave the blessed Mary more roles than God intended, need to stop that. The blessed Mary herself would chastise them severely for this, and would ask them to turn to God!

8. And Some Pray to Mary Because "God is a Male Chauvinist"

In today's culture some people may think (inwardly), God must be a chauvinist, because there is no female representation in heaven, and because of biblical verses like these:

Ephesians 5:23

"For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior."

1Corinthians 14:34

Women are to be silent in the churches. They are not permitted to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they wish to inquire about something, they are to ask their own husbands at home; for it is dishonorable for a woman to speak in the church.

1Corinthians 11:8-9

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

1Timothy 2:11-15

A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

And due to the unfortunate male/female relationships on this earth, women can become resentful and push the elevation of Mary into places unintended by God. God is not a chauvinist. It is the earthly evil that drove people to think earthly, not spiritually, and not see God clearly.

The human relationships problem really started with men. God meant for man to be, lovingly and responsibly, the head of the family. But most men just abuse their privileges. The harsh reality is that we live in a male-chauvinistic world, which produced bitter women over time causing unnecessary actions. One can't blame women for this; they are the victims. The blame ultimately goes to the devil who has a strong footing in this world. This is a result of people not doing the right things towards God, which has been fueling the devil's firm-grip on earth! And this is why bad things happen on earth, including to innocent babies!

God is not a male chauvinist. The Bible did not say women should not go to college, or cannot get a job equal to men! The Bible only described spiritual activities in relation to God - God gave the role to men; not to be misunderstood as demeaning to women. In the same way in the Jewish days God gave the priestly role to the tribe of Levi. Only a Levite could enter the inner room where God had a presence, if any non-Levite entered that room he would die instantly. Not because Levi was any better than his 11 brothers. It was a God choice. Clearly nothing chauvinistic about it.

And we can't talk about chauvinism, without also talking about feminism! The reality is, feminism is the main driver for Mary's ungodly roles. But in the end, both chauvinism and feminism are the work of the devil. And humans when not true Christians will succumb to his lies.

No need for a female representation in heaven. Please stop this; it's blasphemous and producing generations of spiritually dead people. Doing the right things towards God is not difficult. His salvation plan for us is completely sufficient. No added actions are needed. All we have to do is seek God by reading the Bible, and pray the Lord's Prayer once a day, with the "bread" meaning the spiritual Bread of life that God gives for the forgiveness of sins. God will receive you with pleasure no matter what you've done in your past. And will bless you beyond your expectations. See my page on The Lord's Prayer is Severely Misunderstood.

9. The Queen of Heaven?

The woman in Revelation with a crown of twelve stars on her head, is not Mary. Because a few verses down in Revelation 12, it talks about this woman's other offspring, which is a major contradiction to the Catholic church, and their self-declared "perpetual virginity of Mary". The woman in Revelation with the crown of 12 stars is the nation of Israel with 12 tribes.

Mary is not the "queen of heaven". Mary is the "Blessed Mary", as the angel called her. She's the mother of Jesus the human side. Nothing else about her in the Bible.

The term "queen of heaven" was not used in the book of Revelation. It was used in the old-testament Bible describing the "queen of heaven" as an abhorrent detestable pagan god, but Catholics don't know this, because they don't read the Bible!!! Jeremiah 44:16-27 stated that God severely punished those Jews driven by the women at the time, who insisted on worshiping this queen of heaven:

Jeremiah 44:16-22

16 “As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you. 17 But we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster ...19 And the women said, “When we made offerings to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did not our husbands know...20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, ... 22 The Lord could no longer bear your evil deeds and the abominations that you committed.

Jeremiah‬ ‭7:18‬

The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes to offer to the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to arouse my anger.

Obviously the Catholic church had scoured the Bible in desperate search of any scripture that might remotely hint at Mary as anything more that fit their agenda, to please the people. Revelation 12 was all they could find, and they latched on to it. But looking at the rest of the verses in Revelation 12 reveals a different woman. It's the nation of Israel; the twelve tribes of Israel (crown of 12 stars). In the old-testament, the nation of Israel was often referred to as a virgin woman, examples Ezekiel 16, Isaiah 54, and Jeremiah‬ ‭31‬:‭21‬ ‭... Return, Virgin Israel, return to your towns.

Here are the explanations to the specific verses in Revelation 12:

  • Rev 12:1 ...a woman with...a crown of twelve stars on her head are the 12 tribes of Israel.

  • Rev 12:14 ...Driven to wilderness for a time - Israelites in the desert with Moses for 40 years.

  • Rev 12:5 She gave birth to a son, a male child The child is Jesus. He was born to the nation of Israel, descendent of King David.

  • Rev 12:3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon - The dragon is Satan:

    • he tried to kill the child right after birth: King Herod killing all infants under 2-yr old.

    • he tried to derail Jesus in the desert when he tempted Him.

    • he entered Judas to hand Jesus over to be crucified.

  • Rev 12:17 "Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring - those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.". This is clearly describing the rest of the nation of Israel's offspring, which are the disciples of Jesus, who brutally suffered later in their lives.

10. Pray the Rosary and to "Saints"?

The Bible says pray to God only! Any added prayers to humans, Mary, saints, etc. is a blasphemy, a sin. You're not adding anything by also praying to humans. You're just annoying God! If you spend time reading the Bible, you'll clearly see that He despises praying to anyone other than Him. And that includes Mary, who is not His mother!!

Look in the Bible. These verses clearly say not to pray to humans:

Acts 10:25-26

As Peter was about to enter, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet to worship him. But Peter helped him up. “Stand up,” he said, “I am only a man myself.”

Acts 14:11-15 [After Paul raised a man from the dead:]

"When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!” Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker... But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.

John 5:43-44 [Jesus said:]

"43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?"

Notes: Jesus expressing frustration over how people love to elevate each other, instead of God. Throughout His life on earth, He kept pointing them to God, but they kept praising each other instead. Example, ...the woman in the crowd calling out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:27-28

And Jesus specifically said not to do repetitive prayers as in the rosary type praying:

Matthew 6:7-8

when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Notes: This reminds me of long ago; my grandmother sitting in bed for hours, holding the rosary in her hands, and her lips bouncing. I love my grandmother. And I will keep praying for her. She was badly misled by the Catholic church!!

11. The Hail Mary Prayer

Let's examine this prayer:

  1. The first half of it is what the angel said to Mary. This is not a prayer. This is what the angel said to Mary. Nothing more nothing less.

  2. The 2nd half of it, was fabricated by the Vatican and is completely unbiblical. "Holy Mary Mother of God?" The angel and the Bible never called her "mother of god!". But the church defiantly forced their way, to please the people, 2Timothy 4:3-4.

  3. "Pray for us sinners?" Mary cannot hear any prayers, and cannot pray for anyone, because she is dead.

Why are you doing this? Ignoring Jesus' commands and doing it your way?!!! You think this is going to cure your cancer? Think again. God not only does not hear your prayers through Mary, He also considers you a blasphemer - the Bible said Jesus is the only mediator. Why do you think it's ok to ignore this and make Mary the mediator instead??!! Blaming the church doesn't make you innocent in the eyes of God! Nobody in the New Testament prayed to anyone except to God the Father. Even Jesus didn't say to pray to Himself but said to pray to God the Father.

12. "I Feel Inadequate Praying Directly to God Because I'm a Sinner"

Having come from a Catholic family, I heard this often from everyone. Which is an oxymoron response to God's offer. They avoided the only way to life and went in all kinds of wrong directions. Catholics feel God the Father is too strict and Mary the mother is more lenient. These are the devil's earthly lies. If the Catholic church had done the right teaching and advised people to spend time seeking God in the Bible, people would have come to know God, and would have naturally made the choice not to pray to Mary. But as it stands today, people don't really know God, and therefore the Bible says He does not know them!

2 Chronicles 15:2

... The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

I'll answer this section title with an analogy story from the Old Testament. Recall that God had instructed the Israelites that no one is allowed to touch the "Ark of covenant" except priests from the Levite tribe.

1 Chronicles 13:7-10

They moved the ark of God from Abinadab’s house on a new cart, with Uzzah and Ahio guiding it...

When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark, because the oxen stumbled. The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So, he died there before God.

Notes: Uzzah a non-Levite touched the Ark, and God struck him dead instantly. Uzzah did it because the Oxen were misbehaving, and the Ark looked like it was going to fall to the ground. So, he thought "surely God doesn't mind me doing this to keep His Ark from falling...". Do you see the parallel? Breaking God's command for a seemingly good reason or another!!

WE CAN'T MESS WITH GOD!! God demands respect! Christianity is not "anything goes"!! Before we get creative with our earthly ways, we must first keep Jesus' commands. He commanded that we pray the Lord's Prayer for the forgiveness of sins based on Jesus' final sacrifice on the cross. Saying "it can't hurt to pray to Mary because she's His mother anyway", is wrong! God did not command this. You're being an Uzzah. Although God is not striking Catholics down, He's not striking Atheists and devil-worshippers down either. In this post-Jesus time we're in, the more likely action would be God saying, "I never knew you" at judgement: Matthew 7:23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' You say, "I'm not concerned because I'm not an 'evildoer'"? WE ARE ALL EVILDOERS!! unless we get our sins forgiven through the daily Bread of life!!

Jesus said He came for the sinners. Mark 2:17 Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” And Jesus also commanded us to pray directly to God. It's the only way to become forgiven of sins and become righteous in the eyes of God. Those feelings you have, have been embedded in your system by the church from childhood. I know! I was like that too earlier in my life. Yes difficult to let go, but must control it if you really care about becoming right with God.

One last note on this subject. I also believe it is the Vatican's canonization of saints theology that is the root cause of all this confusion. The Vatican's process of canonization makes it look like it is near-impossible to confirm the next "saint". They get into lengthy investigations into the life of the person to determine that he / she never sinned in their life. So, Catholic people feel they are inadequate; and only the canonized saints are worthy of heaven. As a result, they turn to Mary and beg her for their needs, thinking she will try hard with God for them. I am so sad!! They missed the whole objective of God and the sacrifice of Jesus for forgiveness of sins. What is really puzzling is that they do go through the motions of Jesus died for our sins, and they pray the Lord's Prayer. But obviously they don't believe any of it, because they feel it's not enough; they have to supplement with something else like pray to Mary and saints.

13. What is your spiritual objective in life?

1. Stay true to your earthly loyalties, and social and emotional needs?

2. Or truly find God, and spend eternity with Him?

When facing God at judgement, blaming the church will not be acceptable. God gave us enough wisdom to know right from wrong! We know that today's Vatican has their business agenda; what is your excuse?

There is no oops later. If you die without becoming a true believer you will not gain eternal life! This is extremely serious; eternity in torment and darkness; forever, infinity. Just to defend your social setting, ancestral loyalties, and emotional needs here on earth?

1. Stay true to your earthly loyalties, and social and emotional needs?

The usual earthly complacent human behavior:

  • Mary is the mother of God. She'll talk to her son for me; intercede. Completely trusting the church with this.

  • Our family prayed to Mary for generations. All our ancestors believed this; who am I to change it?

  • Mary is the mother of the world.

  • We don't do like the protestants. We don't want them to win this battle. We will remain loyal to Mary. "Us and Them" attitude. And of course the Protestants too have the same "us and them" attitude.

2. Or truly find God, and spend eternity with Him?
  • The only way to God is through His redemption plan - Jesus' death on the cross. There is no other way through another person whispering in God's ear.

  • There is one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 1Timothy 2:5.

  • Mary was appointed mediator by the people, not by God! People gave her roles that God never intended nor approved.

  • Pray to God only! The triune God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Do not pray to any humans or saints!

  • Seek God by reading the Bible. And pray the Lord's Prayer daily.

  • According to Jesus, praying only to God means receiving His blessings here on earth, and salvation to eternal life. What else are you expecting by praying to Mary and other humans?

Do Not Call Anyone on Earth Father

This verse has to do with spiritual things, not our biological father. Meaning, our only spiritual instructor is Jesus through the scriptures. And our only spiritual father is God the Father, not Catholic priests.

Matthew 23:9

But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher [Jesus], and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Christ.

Closing Notes

If the Catholic church had focused on teaching the scripture properly, example, pray the Lord's Prayer daily with the "Bread" meaning the Bread of Life, the sacrifice of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. And encouraged people to seek God by reading the Bible, we would not have gotten to this blasphemous state today, with millions of spiritually-dead people! People would have seen clearly, fell in love with God's personality, and learned that His redemption plan was the main objective of the Christian religion, instead of their emotions-driven praying to Mary.

If the ascension of Mary to heaven was true, then God would not have left people in the dark about it! He would not have left such an unprecedented event out of the Bible. It is so unlike God's personality to only give this information to Pope Pius to announce it!! At a minimum Isaiah or one of the prophets would have prophesied something about it. This is what the Bible said:

‭‭Amos‬ ‭3:7‬

“Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.”

No hint of this anywhere in the Bible!! This is a huge unbiblical mistake! It puts the Vatican in the same league with other unbiblical churches like Calvinists, Jehovah's witnesses, and Mormons. So Mary is now seated at the right-hand of God with her son Jesus?!! In the highest heaven, the unapproachable light? Timothy 6:15-16: ...God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Meaning Mary transformed from human to Deity? This is even contradicting to the Catholic church's own teachings! Why then is Mary not in "In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit"? And why is she not in the Nicene Creed? Are we to expect an updated version of the Nicene creed to be issued by the Vatican?

I prayed for a long time before I wrote this page. Should I not write anything to keep from upsetting people, and let them send themselves to hell? Or upset them and hope that some will see clearly and make it to the right path to God? Obviously, I chose the latter as my obligation towards God, and I am truly sad for those hurting because of it.

Ever since the 3rd century, Christians became less and less filled with the Holy Spirit, resulting in unbiblical theologies. Notice the Bible uses the term "filled with", as in a "measure of", in connection with those who were truly filled with the Holy Spirit back in the days of Jesus, Mary, and Paul. Today, if we are to use a measure, it appears that Christians barely have "a trace of" the Holy Spirit in them. It's been going downhill since shortly after the death of the disciples of Jesus and their generation. People who wrote in the Bible, performed miracles and were obviously filled with the Holy Spirit. The Vatican people of today are filled with everything except the Holy Spirit, and are modifying the Bible, changing the mediator from Jesus to dead people!!

Actually don't be surprised. History keeps repeating itself. The same thing happened with the Jews. In the days of Moses, the Jews in the desert obeyed God's commandments and God lived among them. Remained fairly good up to the days of King David and King Solomon. Then during the next 1,500 years or so things went downhill, up to the days of Jesus. When Jesus showed up, the Jews were so blind spiritually, they could not recognize their own Messiah. Their high-priest Caiaphas, single-handedly drove His crucifixion.

Non-Biblical Internet References

There are many religious internet sites saying that Mary's body ascended to heaven and she's seated next to Jesus. Here are parts from one of them:

"The early centuries of the Christian tradition were silent on the death of Mary. But by the seventh and eighth centuries, the belief in the bodily ascension of Mary into heaven, had taken a firm hold in both the Western and Eastern Churches. But the Eastern Orthodox Greek Church held to the dormition of Mary. According to this, Mary had a natural death, and her soul was then received by Christ. Her body arose on the third day after her death. She was then taken up bodily into heaven.

For a long time, the Catholic Church was ambiguous on whether Mary rose from the dead after a brief period of repose in death and then ascended into heaven or was “assumed” bodily into heaven before she died. Belief in the ascension of Mary into heaven became Catholic doctrine in 1950. Pope Pius XII then declared that Mary was not subject to the law of remaining in the corruption of the grave, and she did not have to wait until the end of time for the redemption of her body."

Notes: Let's start with the first 2 sentences. This confirms that it took the usual time after the truly Holy-Spirit-filled generations died off until the human-natured people took over.

So they're not sure if "Mary rose from the dead and went to heaven... or ascended bodily into heaven before she died?!" How did the Bible miss telling us this? If the blessed Mary was here today, she would personally put a stop to all this non-sense. They hijacked her role in the Bible, and took it into all kinds of wrong directions, unintended by God. How do I know this? I know God through diligently seeking Him in the Bible for years, and I know I am filled with the Holy Spirit. This doctrine is not from God.

The devil cooked-up the perfect lie. He used Mary in it. No one dares to dispute this claim. No one dares to say Mary is not the mother of God!

So What Then Should the Catholic People Do?

First a humble and respectful message to all Catholic and Orthodox people: I think you are all good people! I love you as I love our God!! You are intelligent people, but putting all your trust in the church! And the church, although started out good, hundreds of years ago, has deteriorated over the years. And is now corrupt and completely unbiblical!! Are you truly interested in God? Or you just want to defend the church? It is only our eternity we are talking about!

Do:

  • Simply become Christians by the Bible. Flee from all churches; they're all corrupt and deficient in their teachings. See my page on Are We True Christians?

  • For praying, pray the Lord's Prayer daily as Jesus commanded, to receive the Bread of life daily and remain righteous in the eyes of God. See my page on The Lord's Prayer is Severely Misunderstood - and also see Section 1.8 within that page on how it relates to the Eucharist.

  • Get on the right path with God; seek Him always, by reading the Bible, pray the Lord's Prayer daily, and watch your life transform in amazing ways. God's blessings will pour out on you. As you stand today, believing the unbiblical doctrines of Mary and Purgatory, you are on the wrong track in God's eyes. Effectively you don't know God and are heading to spiritual death.

  • Look at my page How to Be True Christians, I provide alternatives and answer all your questions on how to live without a church.

Don't:

  • Don't become a protestant. Don't become a Baptist or Evangelical, or a Calvinist.

  • Don't pray the rosary anymore. Just pray the Lord's Prayer once a day. This is what Jesus said to do. And this is God's redemption plan for us. Nothing else to supplement with. See my page on The Lord's Prayer is Severely Misunderstood.

  • Don't also pray to Mary after you pray to God; she is not His mother! He sees it differently than you see it. It is most painful to Him.

  • You don't have to become anything other than a "Christian". God never intended for us to have denominations.

And What Should the Catholic Church Do?

True reforms, towards God, not to please people! The current pope can be a hero for God, and reverse Pope Pius-XII's reckless and blasphemous doctrines. Sure it will upset some people, but it will please God! If you truly believe in God, which side do you want to be on?

14. Sharing an Email Exchange with a Reader

A lady wrote to me:

(The email was too long, showing the main highlights of it)

Hello Chris

I am considering starting a podcast and writing blog on everything about Mary.

In doing some research I came across your post: https://www.realbiblestudy.org/mary-mother-of-god

In it you say that you are guided by the Holy Spirit and this isn’t you per se that says these things. I find that a curious statement.

Mary has been central to my faith in Jesus Christ. As you aptly indicate God- The Father, Holy Spirit and Jesus the Son- existed as One (like a clover leaf) without Mary.

For those of us who use Mary as our hero, our guide, for right worship towards God, her ‘yes’ is what breaks the veil between us, humanity, and our Lord coming to walk among us.

...

Mary represents the mystery of faith when we properly order ourselves unto God. I’m doing so, we too can be pure of heart/soul/mind and allow Christ, the Body of Christ to incarnate in our world today in our own uniqueness as icons, made in His image.

...

It seems to me that all those who reduce her to a mere uterine vessel are rooted in the Reformation and in particular the idea that Jesus wasn’t God within Mary’s womb. The other epistemological undergird to your post seems to be that it wasn’t a big deal that she said yes- young, poor, unmarried, living at a time when she could be stoned to death and Joseph was going to quietly dismiss her.

Why would God have intervened so many times with Joseph but He did not intervene with Adam? Was Mary’s yes crucial to our human salvation or not? Is she not the highest model of how we should all aim to be in relationship with our Lord?

...

I am genuinely curious as I would like to address this in various ways in my writings. Often I see your type of arguments but to me they all aim to support a pre-existing stance: Mary wasn’t truly relevant for our faith/salvation journey and Jesus wasn’t God until He was outside her womb.

I thank you in advance.

Sincerely, in Christ

My reply:

Thank you for writing. ...

...

I hope you took the time to carefully read my whole page with all the strong biblical references I provided. It wasn’t just a verse I twisted, there were dozens of Bible references confirming what I’m saying. So indeed guided by the Holy Spirit, and not my opinion.

I can add to your reasoning of “if it wasn’t for her saying yes” and “she’s not just a uterine vessel”. Here’s a list of those we should also consider besides Mary:

- If Judas did not hand Him over.
- If the Jews did not crucify Him.
- If Pontius Pilate pardoned Him.
- If the inn keeper did not offer the stable.

I can think of many more if this is your reasoning. You see? This list, and Mary are earthly humans who accomplished God’s plan in one way or another, albeit some good some bad. If any one of these failed we would be without salvation. You say God would have picked a different route? Then He would have also picked a different virgin! Sorry for the harsh words.

If you insist on preserving your preconceived expectations of Mary, and keep trying to make the Bible fit, you’re on your way to failure. You may succeed in people’s eyes, but will fail in God’s eyes! I don’t say this to criticize or demean you. I am telling you the truth as I understand the Bible.

...

If you truly care about seeking God and His kingdom, I urge you to take time to carefully read my page again, and remember that those who wrote the New Testament and did not include a role for Mary were mere humans that performed miracles and raised people from the dead. Listen to them. And not to the agenda-driven bishops and others who came after...

I never heard back from her.
